Association of the Macedonian ethnic minority of southern Banat ,Vardar, placed in Pancevo, was established on February 2, 2003.The goals and tasks of the association are organizing the citizens of macedonian ethnic minority, their families and friends of the association in order to acquire their rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Serbia and the law governing the protection of rights and freedom of the ethnic minorities and also by the statute of the Association.Among other things the asociation has the duty to preserve and foster cultural values of the Macedonian ethnic minority, especially the language, customs, folkdance and other traditional values. Further, it presents and nurtures cultural and historical values of Serbia, where this ethnic minority lives, in order to make their adjustment easier and for better understanding among different nations.The association includes all communities in southern Banat, in which there live 7,636 inhabitants of macedonian origin from various regions of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. In order to achieve its goals, the association will undertake the following activities

informing people, in macedonian language, by means of the press, radio, television and other means of information

organizing platforms in macedonian language

taking part in activities organized by the State of Serbia, non-governmental organizations and other associations which relate to the position of the minorities

organizing cultural and artistic events

organizing occasional exhibitions

celebration of national holidays
Besides the above-mentioned, the association also undertakes other activities according to the schedule. |
