Kacarevo is placed 12km away from Pancevo and 25km away from Belgrade. Line of latitude – 45 10, hight above sea level – from 96 to 106 meters. An interesting thing to mention is that Kacarevo is placed right in the center of the northern hemisphere, equally far from the North Pole and the Equator.

The first written facts about Kacarevo date back to the second half of the 18th century. At the time the Austrian monarchy intensively colonized this area in order to fix its southern borders. A village called Franzweld, named after the emperor Franz Joseph, was found between 1790. and 1792. It was populated mostly by the Dunabe Germans who lived in the area of Mountain Svarzwald. Owing to the political changes in 1867. Franzweld became Ferencvalu. In 1918, just after the province of Vojvodina had become part of the SHS Monarchy , this village got its first Serbian name, Kraljevicevo.

The first settlers of the abandoned village were the families who escaped from Kosovo and Metohia to central Serbia. They were offered to colonize the village of Kraljevicevo in Banat. Afterwards there started to arrive many families from Bosanska Krajina, Kordun, Lika , Banija, Hercegovina, Montenegro, Montenegrian families from Macedonia, Dalmatia, eastern Serbia, and also a few families from Vojvodina and Macedonia.
